The private trail runs for around 1.5 miles through the grounds of Tedsmore Hall in North Shropshire and is used only by guests staying here. It moves through open countryside and usually stays quiet, even in the height of summer.

It’s straightforward to follow and suits most ages. Some families take it slowly. Children bring scooters. Others head out for a quick loop before lunch and end up staying out longer than planned.

It’s long enough to feel like a proper walk, but not so long that you need to set aside half the day.

Because it’s private, there’s no traffic and very little footfall. Just the usual sounds of the estate and whatever the weather happens to be doing.
